I was asked to rebrand a local San Diego business. I chose to work with Cal Copy, a family-owned print shop in the College Area that works closely with SDSU students and the design program. They have worked in the printing industry for over 30 years. and work with clients on an individual basis to create and print products. In my rebranding, I gave Cal Copy a sleek and modern update to their current brand assets that would encapsulate all of the services they provide. This project required me to develop a brand identity for a hypothetical non-profit organization. The organization I created was called Cultivate, which sponsored community gardens across California. They would work directly with neighborhoods to build gardens and tailor produce selection to best support individual communities. Their goal is for everyone to have healthy, sustainable food options for little to no cost. I started by creating the logo and iconography for Cultivate. The branded elements take on a more organic finish in the edges to mirror the friendly and inviting presence that Cultivate aims to achieve. The final designs were restricted to using only the three colors from Penguin Random House: black, white, and orange. I chose to focus on Greek mythology for my series.
